Karkala: Jaycees International English Medium School Celebrates International Yoga Day

Karkala, Jun 24: Jaycees International English Medium School, Karkala in association with JCI Karkala celebrated International Yoga Day.

Inaugurating the event, Lakshminarayana Acharya emphasized the importance of learning yoga early in life. “We often spend a lot of money on healthcare, but if we practice yoga from the beginning, we can remain disease-free. Yoga is a gift from our ancient Indian tradition. Along with academics, the Jaycees School is also instilling strong values and culture in the children,” he said.

JCI President Shweta Jain highlighted yoga’s benefits, saying, “Yoga is an exercise for both the mind and body. It enhances concentration and helps maintain inner beauty and health, which are as important as outer beauty. Yoga helps balance both.”

School President Chittaranjan Shetty remarked, “Yoga purifies the mind, body, and soul. Today’s youth are turning to yoga to reduce stress and maintain physical well-being. International Yoga Day is celebrated on June 21 each year to raise awareness of its importance among everyone.”

Students who had achieved excellence in yoga were felicitated on the occasion.

The event saw the presence of JCI Karkala President JCI Shweta S Jain, School President JC Chittaranjan Shetty, Chief Guest Lakshminarayana Acharya, School Principal Surekha Raj, Yoga Trainer Shilpa Shetty, JC Supriya, and JC Sushanth Shetty.
