Mangaluru: Iran-Israel conflict disrupts Middle East flights; several services cancelled

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru

Mangaluru, June 24: International flight operations between the Middle East and Mangaluru have been severely affected following Iran’s missile strikes on a US military base in Qatar. As a result, several countries in the region had imposed airspace restrictions, disrupting scheduled services at Mangaluru International Airport.

According to the latest flight information, four inbound international flights scheduled to arrive in Mangaluru have been cancelled:

  • IndiGo flight 6E1437 from Abu Dhabi
  • IndiGo flight 6E1468 from Dubai
  • Air India Express flight IX832 from Dubai
  • Air India Express flight IX886 from Dammam

In addition, two outbound international flights were also cancelled:

  • Air India Express IX Mangaluru–Dammam
  • Air India Express IX831 Mangaluru–Dubai

While the international disruptions were attributed to the airspace closure, a domestic IndiGo flight — 6E6523 from Mangaluru to Mumbai — was also cancelled, citing operational reasons.

The airport authorities further confirmed that two international flights which had taken off from Mangaluru were diverted — an Air India Express flight bound for Dammam on June 23 evening was rerouted to Muscat, while an IndiGo flight originally scheduled to land in Abu Dhabi was diverted to Mumbai. Both aircraft later returned to Mangaluru on Tuesday, June 24.

Passengers travelling to or from Middle Eastern destinations have been advised to verify their flight status in advance, as further disruptions may occur depending on the evolving geopolitical situation.

Mangaluru International Airport has issued a public advisory urging travellers to stay updated through their respective airlines.
