Udupi: SMVITM holds awareness programme on drug abuse, illicit trafficking

Udupi, Jun 27: An awareness programme on drug abuse and illicit trafficking was organized by the SMVITM NCC UNIT at SVS English Medium School, Innanje, on the occasion of International Day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking on June 26.

The session was conducted by NCC caretaker officer Karthik V, who addressed the students on the harmful effects of drug abuse, its consequences on health and society, and guided them on whom to approach for help and how to overcome such challenges.

Vasundhara, assistant teacher, compered the event and delivered the vote of thanks.

The programme was graced by primary school headmistress Mamatha and high school headmistress Sushma, along with the teaching staff. PI staff Subedar Subhas and NCC cadets were also present, making the event a meaningful and impactful initiative for the young minds.

The programme concluded with all participants taking a pledge to live a drug-free life.
