Mangaluru: Leadership training session held at St Agnes PU College

Mangaluru, Jun 30: St Agnes PU College organised a leadership training program on Saturday, 28 June 2025, for the newly inducted student cabinet and class representatives under the expert guidance of Elson D'Souza, a multi-talented professional and state-certified resource person known for his zestful energy and enthusiasm, he has actively inspired and mentored scores of youth leaders.

The training program aimed to equip student leaders with the essential skills and knowledge required to effectively lead their peers and manage their responsibilities within the college environment. Elson's engaging and interactive style made the session highly impactful and meaningful for the participants.

 

Elson exhorted the student council to lead with vision, creativity, and integrity. He emphasized that resilience, mindfulness, and strategic thinking are the hallmarks of great leadership.

The session focused on grooming students into competent leaders through a series of collaborative and well-designed activities and stories that fostered trust, empathy, communication, and teamwork. He advised them to be inspired rather than influenced. He also emphasized the 8-8-8 hour rule and exhorted the young leaders to convert their weaknesses into strengths and challenges into opportunities.

The leadership training programme was a great success, leaving a lasting impact on the student leaders and equipping them with the agility and finesse necessary to make a positive difference in their roles.

Vice-principal Sr Janet Sequeira welcomed and introduced Elson D'Souza, while student president Mansi Rajpurohit delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude for the insightful and uplifting session.
