Hubli, Jan 29 (DHNS): Eshwarappa, Ananthkumar given a dressing down by Sangh functionaries The top brass of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh is said to have taken serious exception to the conduct of the BJP leaders in the State.
State BJP president K S Eshwarappa and BJP National General Secretary Ananthakumar are said to have been taken to task during a ‘political baithak’ held on the sidelines of the ‘Hindu Shakti Sangama,’ here on Saturday.
RSS Sarasangha Sanchalak Mohan Bhagwat, Sarakaryvaha Suresh Joshi (Bhayyaji), State functionaries Jayadev and Suryanarayana Rao were present in the meeting.
According to sources, the RSS leaders sought to know from the BJP men the principles they learnt from the Sangha and their deeds after coming to power. The irregularities said to have been committed during the tenure of former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa to came in for severe criticism. A senior leader is said to have lamented that the scams were a fait accompli when people “driven by power and without an inkling of RSS principles” were inducted into the party.
The Sangh functionaries are said to have felt that it had become difficult to wash away the ‘stain’ the BJP is smeared with in the State. It was felt that the party had failed to use the first opportunity to wield power and instead had brought bad name to the BJP and the RSS. The party leaders were advised to rectify their conduct in future.
Yeddyurappa was scheduled to take part in the camp on Saturday but had to drop the plans since the leaders refused permission, sources said.
It is also said that ministers Murugesh Nirani, C M Udasi, C C Patil, Laxman Savadi and others who attempted to pacity the RSS leaders, invited their wrath.
Route march
More than 25,000 RSS volunteers took part in the massive route march that was taken out in the City as part of the event. The march, which began at three locations, converged at the Kittur Chennamma Circle.
