Mangaluru, July 1: A Kerala government transport bus met with a minor accident at Kotekarubiri near Beeri Junction on Monday, July 1, in the afternoon, resulting in injuries to a car driver and a brief disruption in traffic.
The incident took place when a Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus travelling from Kasaragod to Mangaluru slowed down at Beeri Junction to drop off passengers. As the bus braked, a car approaching from behind failed to stop in time and rammed into the rear of the bus.

The impact of the collision was severe enough to damage both vehicles — the rear portion of the bus and the front section of the car were badly crushed. The car driver sustained injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Traffic on the busy national highway near Beeri Junction was affected for some time following the mishap.
Mangaluru South Traffic police arrived at the scene promptly, conducted an inspection, and regulated traffic flow to ease the congestion.
Further investigation is underway.
