Lions Club Mangalore Bejai installs new team led by Ronald Fernandes Trio

Mangaluru, Jul 3: The Lions Club Mangalore Bejai held its annual installation ceremony for the new office bearers on June 28, at Ajantha Business Centre, Bejai. The event was presided over by second vice district governor Lion Govardhan Shetty MJF, who served as the installation officer and officially inducted the new leadership team. He was accompanied by his wife, Lion Supreetha Shetty.

The installation officer was introduced to the gathering by the incoming secretary, Ronald Fernandes. In a rare and delightful coincidence, all three key office bearers shared the same name Ronald Fernandes who assumed charge as president, secretary, and treasurer, respectively. This unique occurrence added a special charm to the evening, drawing smiles and applause from the gathering. Notably, this was a first in Lions Club history.

The newly elected president Lion Ronald Fernandes, a well-known entrepreneur and proprietor of M/s Bharat Electricals and Instrumentation Company, is deeply committed to community service and serves as a member of the Finance Committee of Bejai Church. His leadership is expected to bring renewed energy and purpose to the club's service initiatives.

Outgoing president Lion Ashok Pinto addressed the gathering with heartfelt gratitude, reflecting on the highlights of the past year and thanking members for their support. He encouraged the new team to uphold the Lions Club's mission of service and community involvement.

Zone chairperson Lion Asha Chandra Mohan felicitated the newly installed team and appreciated the club's consistent contributions to society. The event was graced by several esteemed dignitaries, including Lion Philip Pereira, Lion Mohideen, and Lion Maimunna, who extended their best wishes to the new team.

The club also recognized outstanding youth achievers from its Leo Club. Leo Jenica Sania D’Souza, a national-level football player, was honored for her athletic excellence and for winning the 1st runner-up title at the Kudla Utsav Beauty Pageant held in Bahrain, where she also received the Best Smile Award. Leo Stephen Pinto, who secured an impressive All India Rank of 140 in the national selection exam and is currently pursuing his MTech at IIT Mumbai, was felicitated for his academic excellence and promise as a future leader.

Treasurer Lion Ronald Fernandes thanked the gathering, and Lion Preethi D’Souza compered the event. The evening was marked by a spirit of celebration, fellowship, and dedication to the ideals of Lionism. The presence of members, guests, and youth achievers made the event memorable, setting a positive tone for the new term.
