Udupi, Jul 3: Nitte University is proud to announce that a team of final-year students from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology, Bengaluru, has secured first place at the prestigious Matrix University Awards 2025. The award was presented during the 10th Matrix Global Summit held on July 1 and 2.
The winning project, titled "Empowering Mobility through Adaptive EV for Disabled People", stood out among entries from more than 70 teams representing institutions across Karnataka and neighbouring states. The project was guided by Dr Shefali Jagwani, who mentored the students throughout their journey.



The team members - Pratham Tamse, Sarvesh Bhat, Sankalp Dalvi and Sumathi B, all in their 8th semester of the EEE program, showcased a compelling blend of technical ingenuity and social relevance. Their innovative solution aimed at making electric mobility accessible for persons with disabilities was widely appreciated.
As winners of the Matrix University Awards, the students received a cash prize of Rs 40,000. In addition, they have earned a mentorship opportunity from leading EV entrepreneurs and a one-year membership with TiE Bangalore. This remarkable achievement reflects the department’s commitment to fostering innovation with purpose.
