SMVITM’s Ashwin Shetty conferred PhD for pioneering research in mechanical engineering

Udupi, Jul 4: Ashwin Shetty, research scholar in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management, Bantakal, has been awarded PhD degree for his research thesis titled “Effect of trace element magnesium on the mechanical and wear behaviour of SiC reinforced Al-Si eutectic metal matrix composite."

The research thesis was submitted under the guidance of professor Dr Thirumaleshwara Bhat, principal of SMVITM and Dr Sathyashankara Sharma, senior professor in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at MIT, Manipal.

Ashwin Shetty is conferred with PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering Sciences by the Visvesvaraya Technological University in its 25th annual convocation held at Belagavi on July 4.

The management, CEO of Shri Sode Vadiraja Matha Educational Institutions Dr Radhakrishna S Aithal, principal Dr Thirumaleshwara Bhat, faculty and staff members of SMVITM have congratulated Ashwin Shetty for being honoured with PhD degree.
