Udupi, Jul 4: The Freedom Run-2025 Fourth Edition, organized by the Freedom Run Marathon Committee, Manipal, will be held on August 10 at Canara Bank Manipal Circle Office.

Sachin Shetty, senior manager, Canara Bank, Circle office, Manipal, addressing the media in the press conference held on July 2, said, “Every year, the marathon is held on the occasion of Independence Day. This is the fourth edition. The first year was themed against plastic use, the second edition was against drug abuse, and the third edition focused on women empowerment. This year, the theme is ‘Stride with the Pride of Our Armed Forces.’ Our target is participants from all age groups. The third edition saw more than 5,000 participants including international runners, and this year we expect over 7,000 participants.”

The marathon will have four categories: 21 km run, 10 km run, 5 km run, and 3 km run. There will be special categories for students up to grade 8, grades 8 to 10, and above, along with separate categories for MAHE students and bank staff.

The marathon will begin at 5 am and continue till 8.30 am. All races will commence from Canara Bank Manipal Circle Office, passing through TAPMI Road, and returning to the starting point. The total prize money worth Rs 5 lacs will be awarded to the winners.
