Bantwal, July 5: A joyous moment turned tragic for a Pavoor resident after a car he had just purchased crashed and overturned, killing him on the spot near Kelagina Tumbe in Bantwal on Saturday afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Naufal, a native of Pavoor. According to sources, Naufal had bought a Swift car earlier in the day from Usman, a resident of Kaikamba in B C Road. The accident occurred as he was driving the new vehicle home.

While passing through Kelagina Tumbe, the car is believed to have lost control, collided with a road divider, and flipped over, causing fatal injuries.

Further details about the circumstances of the crash are still awaited.

Traffic police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.

The car itself seems to have no proper safety standards. Roads are full of potholes, dividers are left without reflectors, and street lights are missing—yet toll fares are collected without any excuse. And speaking of health, heart attacks are becoming very common these days. Maybe I’m wrong, but considering he had only minor injuries, this could have been one of the reasons. It's time we take both road safety and health more seriously. #RoadSafety #HealthAwareness #AccountabilityMatters

Maybe he was excited with the new car bought. Speed thrills but kills. The car is totally damaged and will go for scrap. Hope almighty to give the strength and courage to his family members for the loss of life.
