Mangaluru, Jul 6: The feast of Our Lady of Miracles was celebrated at Milagres Church with devotion and piety. The solemn Mass in Konkani was celebrated with the guest priests by Fr Daniel Veigas, the Episcopal priest for the religious.

He called on the faithful to work for peace as this has been the call of Christ and mission of the church, the highlight in the celebration of the Eucharist celebrated at least three different times in the Liturgy.

The English Solemn Mass was officiated by the emeritus bishop Aloysius Paul D’Souza with the guest priests. Fr Kenneth Crasta, the assistant director of St Joseph engineering College preached the homily on the "Compassion of our Lord" which has been highlighted in the readings of Sunday and even in the life of Our Lady of Miracles, the Patron of Milagres Mangaluru.

Those associated in building the unity of the church and educational institutions were honoured. The choirs sang the melodious hymns and the devotees attended in large numbers.
