Bantwal, Jul 9: A man was taken into custody by Vittal police after allegedly threatening a minor boy for speaking with a girl at a bus stand in Vittal.
The incident occurred on the evening of July 8, when the minor, brother of the complainant, was talking to his female classmate at the private bus stand in Vittal. At that moment, the accused, identified as Padmaraj from Enmakaje, Manjeshwar, arrived at the location and confronted the boy, objecting to his conversation with a Hindu girl. The accused allegedly issued threats before leaving the spot.
Following the incident, a case has been registered at the Vittal police station under Crime No. 83/2025, invoking Sections 126(2), 352, 351(3), and 196(1)(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023. The police have taken the accused into custody and are conducting further investigation based on his statements.
Authorities have reminded the public and media that, since the victims involved are minors, any dissemination of information related to the case must comply with the Juvenile Justice Act and relevant child protection regulations when sharing on social media or other platforms.
