Kasargod, July 9: In a shocking development, the body of a 22-year-old youth who had gone missing on Tuesday was discovered on Wednesday morning near the Kasaba shoreline, close to the Kasargod port, triggering suspicions of foul play.
The deceased, identified as Aditya, a resident of Kasargod Kasaba, was found by local fishermen who had ventured out early in the morning to fish near Alive Bagilu. The body was entangled in their fishing net, and according to eyewitnesses, injury marks were visible, raising the possibility of an assault before death.

To add to the mystery, Aditya’s gold chain and hand bracelet were missing, which relatives believe points to robbery or possible murder. They have formally lodged a complaint with the police.
Aditya had been reported missing since Tuesday, prompting an extensive search operation by the coastal police and the fire and emergency services. His motorbike and mobile phone were found abandoned near the port area, but there was no sign of him until his body surfaced the next morning.
The Kasargod town police rushed to the spot, conducted a preliminary inspection, and have shifted the body to the Kannur Government Medical College Hospital for a post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death.
A case has been registered, and police have launched a full-scale investigation. With jewellery missing and injuries visible, authorities are not ruling out murder for gain.
