Hisar, Jul 11: In a chilling incident that has shocked the education community in Haryana, two students of Kartar Memorial Senior Secondary School in Bass village brutally stabbed the school director to death, reportedly after being scolded for indiscipline.
The victim, Jagbir Pannu, was rushed to a private hospital in Hisar following the attack around 10:30 am on Friday, but succumbed to multiple stab injuries.

According to the police and eyewitness accounts, the accused — students of Class XI and XII — had been threatening the school director for some time after he reprimanded them over behavioural issues. The deceased’s brother Vijender, who also serves as the school’s principal, told police that Jagbir had expressed concerns about repeated threats from the duo. The matter had even been brought to the notice of their parents.
The situation turned deadly on Friday when the two students confronted Jagbir on campus. “After a brief exchange of words, one student held him down while the other stabbed him repeatedly in the abdomen,” Vijender stated in his complaint. The assailants fled immediately after the incident, leaving behind the blood-stained knife.
What has further raised concerns is that after fleeing, the suspects allegedly uploaded a video on social media issuing threats and mentioning a sum of Rs 10 lakh, though the intent and target of the threats remain unclear.
DSP Ravinder Sangwan confirmed that an FIR has been registered and a probe is underway. “The motive behind the killing is still being investigated. We are interrogating staff and fellow students to piece together the sequence of events,” he said.
The incident has triggered widespread outrage and fear among parents and educators, raising serious questions about school safety and student discipline. Authorities have launched a manhunt for the absconding students, as the community reels under the trauma of a cold-blooded murder in broad daylight, right inside a school campus.
