Mangaluru, Jul 11: Srinivas University, Institute of Hotel Management and Tourism, organized a orientation programme 2025 for the department of hotel management, department of interior design and department of BSc animation on July 11, at its City Campus, Pandeshwara, Mangaluru.
The event was held under the guidance and blessings of Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao, honourable chancellor of Srinivas University and president of the A Shama Rao Foundation. Dr A Srinivas Rao, pro-chancellor and vice president of A Shama Rao Foundation, presided over the programme.








In his presidential address, Dr A Srinivas Rao emphasized the integral connection between hospitality and interior design, highlighting how thoughtful design enhances guest experiences. He further stated, “As a private university, we carry the responsibility to stay ahead of industry demands. Our curriculum will continuously evolve to ensure our students are equipped with relevant skills and never face employment barriers.”
Prof Er A Mitra S Rao, trustee member of Srinivas University board of governors, administered the oath to the new batch of students. She shared an inspiring message, “‘Atithi Devo Bhava’ is deeply rooted in our culture, and our hotel management students must live by this. Here, we teach students not only to serve but to serve with love, for food offered with affection becomes Amrutha.”
Vijayalakshmi R Rao, trustee member of Srinivas University board of governors, conveyed her heartfelt wishes to the students for a successful and bright academic journey.
Dr K Satyanarayan Reddy, vice-chancellor of Srinivas University, provided an insightful overview of the university's vision, academic achievements, and its growing reputation in higher education.
Dr Ajay Kumar, registrar (development), reiterated the institution's commitment to quality education, asserting that excellence is the benchmark in all university offerings.
The gathering was warmly welcomed by Prof B Prashanth Prabhu, dean of the Institute of hotel management and tourism. Prof Yogeetha Pai, head of the department of interior design, delivered the vote of thanks. Prof Shubrath and Prof Jeetha compered the event.
