Indore’s ‘Helmet Man’ goes viral, says it’s his last shield against threats

Indore, Jul 13: In a strange yet troubling turn of events, a young man from Gauri Nagar in Indore has resorted to wearing a helmet with a camera mounted on it to protect himself and his family amid an ongoing property dispute.

Nicknamed ‘Helmet Man’ on social media, the man claims he has been facing continuous harassment and death threats from his neighbours — Satish, Baliram, and Munna Chauhan. Despite several complaints to the local police, he alleges no action has been taken so far.

“We’ve pleaded for protection. When nothing happened, I decided to record everything, everywhere I go,” he said, adding that the helmet camera is not a gimmick but a shield for survival.

Clips of the man walking the streets with a black helmet equipped with a small camera have gone viral online, evoking both laughter and serious concern. “If anything happens to me or my family, at least there will be video evidence,” he said.

Police confirmed that the matter has escalated before and that efforts have been made to mediate. “The case is being reviewed and any new facts will be considered,” said a senior officer.

The bizarre act is drawing attention to deeper issues of citizen safety and the public's growing mistrust in law enforcement responses.
