Bantwal, Jul 13: Kavya K Nayak from Thumbe has been awarded a PhD by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, for her research titled ‘Electrochemical Continuous Glucose Monitoring Sensors for Effective Management of Diabetes.’

She pursued her research under the guidance of Prof Navakant Bhat, dean of the Interdisciplinary Sciences Division and professor at the Centre for Nano Science and Engineering, IISc.

The significant study involved an in-depth exploration into the development of electrochemical technology-based continuous glucose monitoring sensors aimed at enhancing the management of diabetes.

Kavya is the daughter of Roopa and K Krishna Nayak of Thumbe. She is married to Girish N Pai of Mandarthi and currently serves as an assistant professor at RV College of Engineering, Bengaluru.
