Loretto English Medium High School, CBSE visits paddy field as part of educational tour

Media Release

Mangaluru, Jul 14: Students of Loretto English Medium High School, CBSE, had an enriching experience visiting a paddy field as part of an educational field trip. The visit took place at the fields owned by Jerald Pinto and Sunitha.

The students were accompanied by the school principal, Fr Jason Vijay Monis, and teachers Anitha Pais and Mareena. The purpose of the visit was to help students understand how paddy is cultivated, as many in today’s generation have little exposure to traditional farming practices.

At the field, the principal explained the process of soaking paddy seeds in preparation for planting. Jerald Pinto and Sunitha demonstrated the correct method of planting paddy saplings. The students, along with their teachers, enthusiastically stepped into the field and participated in the planting process.

This activity not only gave the students a new perspective on agriculture but also instilled in them respect for farmers and the effort behind every grain of rice. It was a joyful and educational experience that connected them closely to nature and rural life.
