Bantwal: Heavy rains continue; damage reported in several parts of taluk

Bantwal, Jul 15: With heavy rains lashing the region once again, the taluk has witnessed widespread damage in multiple areas. Due to the intense wind and rain, tahsildar Archana Bhat declared a holiday for all primary and high schools in the taluk as a precautionary measure.

Meanwhile, several rain-related incidents have been reported, leading to substantial property loss. In Badagabelluru village, a tree fell on the house of a resident named Mohini, causing considerable damage. In Panemangalore, the house of a resident named Soumya was damaged due to strong winds.

At Darkhasu in Biliyur village, the residence of a person named Balledi suffered rain damage. In Mularpattana of Arala village, the compound wall near the house of Zeenath collapsed, partially damaging the structure and prompting the relocation of the residents. In another incident at Panemangalore, the compound wall of Abdul Razak’s house collapsed, resulting in major losses.

Officials are assessing the damage and further updates are awaited.
