Mangaluru: Traffic suspension on Kulur bridge from Jul 21 night

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Jul 21: Due to heavy rainfall over the past several days, the connecting road between the KIOCL Junction and Kulur arch bridge on National Highway 66 has suffered severe damage. To carry out repair work, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced a suspension of vehicular movement on the bridge from 8 pm on July 21 to 8 am on July 24.

The damaged stretch has been causing inconvenience to commuters and motorists. Despite minor repair attempts, continuous rainfall has led to repeated deterioration of the road. As asphalting is currently not feasible, the NHAI has decided to undertake paver block repair work instead.

The NHAI has appealed to the public and motorists to cooperate during this temporary traffic suspension.

It is a regular thing happening and the city corporation will only action during mansoon. Knowing the fact that the kulur bridge is an only easy connection to M'lore city, this is getting into a diastolic stage. God need to help us all. Highway 66 is just pathetic, specially when it comes to kulur bridge. On the other hand, one side go through has a flyover and another side we get jacked in traffic. What is the issue no one understands and what is the use while saying mlore as a smart City ?? Only God need to help us by keeping the kulur bridge strong. Due to dirty politics, current way of bridge construction is still pending. May be we see the new bridge after a disaster, where all will come with alligator 🐊 tears
