New Delhi, Jul 23: In a chilling incident that has raised serious concerns over law and order in the national capital, armed assailants robbed a retired National Security Guard (NSG) personnel’s residence in Delhi’s Chandni Chowk area, decamping with valuables worth around Rs 60 lac. The Delhi police have arrested one of the prime accused in the case from Noida, officials confirmed on Tuesday.
The arrested accused has been identified as Alok Kumar Mishra (35), who is reportedly a driver employed by a civic body worker. He was apprehended from Noida in Uttar Pradesh. However, none of the stolen items have been recovered from him yet, police said.

The robbery occurred on Saturday, when Bhimsen (86), a former NSG commando now running a jewellery business in the bustling Kinaari Bazaar, was at home with his son Sandeep, daughter-in-law Neelam, and grandson.
As per reports, the ordeal began when a man named Sunil knocked on their door and called out the name of a family member. The moment the door was opened, three masked men brandishing weapons stormed into the house, catching the family off-guard.
“They demanded specific documents and began ransacking the house. When the grandson tried to resist, one of them pointed a gun at him, tied his hands, and gagged him using adhesive tape,” said a senior police officer.
The gang fled with gold ornaments and precious stones valued at approximately Rs 50 lac, along with $3,550 in cash, after locking the family inside the kitchen.
Following the traumatic incident, the family managed to alert neighbours, who broke open the door and contacted the police.
During the investigation, Delhi Police tracked and arrested Alok Kumar Mishra from Noida. The firearm used in the heist has been recovered, but the stolen booty remains untraced.
A case has been registered, and efforts are underway to trace the remaining accused. Further investigation is in progress, the officer stated.
Police sources say the crime appears to have been planned meticulously, indicating possible inside knowledge.
