Bantwal, Jul 25: Heavy rains accompanied by strong winds that lashed various parts of Bantwal taluk have caused damage in several areas.

In Pilatabettu village, a tree fell on the house of Kavita Padmanabha, causing considerable damage. In Devasya Paduru village, the rear wall of the house belonging to Yamuna Rukmaya Poojary of Noorthadi collapsed due to the impact of the rains.

In Kavala Paduru village, a tree fell on the house of Padmavathi Aithappa, a resident of Keddalike. In another incident, a tree came crashing down on the house of Dakkayya Poojary in Noojantodi, Panjikallu village, resulting in damage.

Local residents have urged authorities to initiate necessary relief and repair measures.
