Panaji, Jul 26: Two police constables attached to the North Goa Superintendent of Police’s office have been suspended following serious allegations of molestation and assault on a woman outside a pub in Patto-Panaji.

Superintendent of Police Rahul Gupta confirmed that the woman accused constables Omkar Jadhav and Mayur Naik of outraging her modesty.

“The woman alleged that the accused touched her inappropriately, used abusive language, and one of them even struck her forehead with a mobile phone, causing injury,” said SP Gupta.

An FIR has been registered, and both constables were immediately suspended. A show cause notice has also been issued to third police personnel who was present at the scene.

“This kind of behaviour is unacceptable in a disciplined police force,” the SP remarked.
