Netanyahu slams France for backing Palestinian State, calls it a 'Reward for Terror'

Daijiworld Media Network - Jerusalem

Jerusalem, Jul 26: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has strongly criticized France’s support for recognizing a Palestinian state, warning that such a move could lead to the creation of another Iranian proxy in the region.

Calling the decision dangerous, Netanyahu posted on X, “A Palestinian state in these conditions would be a launchpad to annihilate Israel... Let’s be clear: the Palestinians do not seek a state alongside Israel; they seek a state instead of Israel.”

Echoing similar sentiments, Israel’s Defence Minister Israel Katz called the move “a disgrace and a surrender to terrorism.”

The sharp reaction comes amid growing international support for the formal recognition of a Palestinian state — a move Israel sees as undermining its national security.
