Sullia: Woman dies after being hit by bike while crossing road near Kallugundi

Sullia, July 28: A 67-year-old woman sustained fatal injuries after being hit by a motorcycle while crossing the road near the Kallugundi post office. The incident occurred on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Kamala Chetkar, mother of former Sampaje gram panchayat president Kumar Chetmar, and a resident of Sampaje Bailu.

According to sources, Kamala was attempting to cross the road near the Kallugundi post office to board a bus to Sampaje when a Kerala-registered bike heading toward Sullia lost control and struck her. She suffered serious injuries in the accident and was rushed to K V G Hospital, but reportedly did not respond to treatment and passed away.
