Kasargod, July 28: A 75-year-old farmer was tragically electrocuted on Monday morning in Vayalankuli, near Koliyadka, after stepping on a snapped live wire. The deceased has been identified as Kunjindan Nair, a resident of Vayalankuli. A cow that was with him also died in the incident.
According to local sources, the incident occurred around 10 am, when Nair took his cow out to graze in a nearby open field. Unaware of a snapped electric wire lying on the ground, he accidentally stepped on it and was electrocuted on the spot. The cow also came in contact with the live wire and died instantly.

When Nair did not return home even after a long time, his son Rajan went searching for him and discovered the tragic scene. He immediately alerted the electricity department, after which officials arrived and disconnected the power supply to prevent further danger.
Though Nair was rushed to the hospital, doctors declared him brought dead.
The body was later shifted to the Kasaragod General Hospital, where a post-mortem examination was conducted.
