Goa to auction four more mining blocks soon, says CM Pramod Sawant

Panaji, July 29: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced in the Assembly on Tuesday that Goa’s mining sector is set to accelerate, with the government planning to auction four additional mineral blocks within the next 15 days.

Of the 12 mineral blocks already auctioned, three have begun operations, and four more are expected to start within the next two months, Sawant said. He attributed the delays to pending approvals from multiple agencies.

The Chief Minister assured that by October, mining activities across the state will resume smoothly, emphasizing the government’s commitment to both reviving the sector and recovering dues from defaulting mining companies.
