Mangaluru, Jul 30: The Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh has congratulated Remona Evette Periera, a final-year BA student at St Aloysius College, Mangaluru, for her extraordinary achievement of entering the Golden Book of World Records by performing Bharatanatyam continuously for 170 hours over seven days.
Beginning on the morning of July 21 and concluding on the evening of July 28, Remona performed non-stop across seven days and seven nights, presenting various classical forms of Bharatanatyam including Alarippu, Jatiswaram, Shabdam, Varnam, Padam, and Tillana, alongside semi-classical numbers and devotional compositions. Her accomplishment has been hailed as exceptional and inspirational by art lovers and the community alike.
Congratulating her on this feat, Catholic Sabha wished Remona continued success in the field of dance and encouraged her to reach greater heights. The Sabha also expressed gratitude to St Aloysius University for providing the platform for her attempt, and to her dance mentor Vidya Muralidhar for her dedicated guidance and support.
The acknowledgment was made by Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh Central committee president Santosh D'Souza and other office-bearers in a press statement.
