Kundapur, Aug 5: An 8-year-old girl tragically lost her life after being bitten by a venomous snake in Shedimane village.

The deceased has been identified as Sannidhi, daughter of Sridhar Madivala, a resident of Beppare Guddeyangadi in Shedimane.

On August 3, since it was a school holiday, Sannidhi had gone to visit her father, who was working in the plantation. Before she could reach him, a venomous snake bit her in the plantation. Screaming in pain, the girl ran back home.

Family members immediately rushed her to Hebri government hospital, from where she was shifted to Manipal hospital for advanced treatment. Unfortunately, she did not respond to the treatment and passed away the same day.

Sannidhi was the youngest and only daughter among four children of Sridhar and Jyothi. She was studying in class 3 at Mandi Moorukai government higher primary school.

Based on a complaint filed by her father Sridhar, a case has been registered at the Amasbail police station.
