Diocese of Shimoga celebrates Vianney Day

Shivamogga, Aug 5: Bishop Francis Serrao SJ organized clergy recollection at Sannidhi on August 3 and 4. Fr John Sequiera OCD was the preacher for the recollection. Recollection began with opening prayer and welcome by Bishop Francis. Fr Sunil Rodrigues OCD, introduced the preacher.

Two talks on 'Our Christian identity' and 'Our identity as Priests' were held. Confessions were organised on August 3. Meanwhile adoration was led by Fr Nelson Pinto, OCD. On August 4 was the talk. Then Bishop Francis Serrao SJ together with priests and religious men and women celebrated the festal Holy Eucharist. Fr Sunil Rodrigues OCD delivered a thought-provoking homily.

All gathered in the hall. The CRI unit of the diocese of Shimoga led the programme. They felicitated the bishop and all the Jubilarians Namely: Fr Jose B Castelino, Fr George K A, Fr Santhosh D'Cunha, Fr Franklin D'Souza, Fr Lancy Barthalomeo D'Souza and Fr Stephen Maxi Albuquerque. They also conducted some games to the priests.

Bishop Francis Serrao SJ has his message and information. On behalf of all, Msgr Fr Stany D'Souza, vicar general of the diocese of Shimoga, proposed a vote of thanks.
