Sahitya Akademi to honour V J P Saldanha with centenary seminar in Mangaluru on Aug 13–14

Mangaluru, Aug 11: Sahitya Akademi (National Academy of Letters), an autonomous organisation functioning under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, is organising a birth centenary seminar on the life and works of V J P Saldanha, the eminent Konkani novelist and journalist.

The event is being held in collaboration with the Konkani Institute, St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), and Vision Konkani, and will take place from August 13 to 14at the Robert Sequeira Hall, LCRI Block, St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru – 575003.

As part of the seminar, Sahitya Akademi is also organising a three-day book exhibition cum discount sale from August 12 to 14, between 10 am and 6 pm, at Sahodaya Hall, St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru – 575003.

The exhibition will showcase books in Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Marathi, English, and Hindi.

Litterateurs, literarians, academics, and students are kindly requested to attend the seminar and make the most of this valuable opportunity to engage with the legacy of a towering figure in Konkani literature.
