Bangalore: Yeddyurappa in Delhi to Stake Claim for Dignified Position

Daijiworld Media Network – Bangalore (SP)

Bangalore, Feb 4: Sensing that remaining silent will only erode his authority further, Yeddyurappa, who had controlled his temper and remained quiet at the advice of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leaders for some time, has decided that enough is enough.

Giving indication that he will drum up support from party activists and leaders alike, and will stake claim for an important position without further delay, Yeddyurappa rushed to New Delhi on Friday February 3 evening all of a sudden. Reportedly, he is armed with a letter signed by 48 party legislators, seeking a suitable post for Yeddyurappa.

It is said that those who have signed this letter are staunch supporters of Yeddy, and the former Chief Minister purposefully kept out about 10 to 15 more legislators, who do support him, but are not his die hard followers. Sources said that these 48 legislators have pledged to support Yeddy to the hilt even in critical situations.

Yeddyurappa is expected to stake his claim for the position of the Chief Minister, and if it not feasible, at least the post of the state president of BJP. He wants concrete assurance from the party leaders, who have been dilly-dallying on his earlier demands for the fear of losing popularity because of the beating Yeddy’s image has received on account of various scams.

It is said that Yeddyurappa has asked his close ones not to lose patience on the issue at least till the present legislature session comes to an end. Reliable sources said he may take a final stand on the issue by next week. Yeddyurappa wants to build support base for the party in the state for the assembly election by staying at the helm of the party at the state level. In all probability, the effort presently launched by Yeddyurappa will be a ‘do or die’ battle, and failure of party top brass to give him a position, sources feel, may also force Yeddy to part ways with the party he had built in the state during the last over four decades.  Some close followers of the former Chief Minister disclosed that the mindset of Yeddyurappa at present is such that he is prepared to take a hard stance and leave the party and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, with which he has been associated with since he was young.

Before leaving for New Delhi, Yeddyurappa held parleys with Sri Sri Ravishankar of Art of Living Foundation, who is believed to be having good popularity, following, rapport, and influence in political circles. He visited Art of Living Foundation’s central office located at Kanakapura Road here late night on Thursday, and discussed all the issues with the Guru. It is believed that the visit was basically to get the celebrated Guru’s guidance about future course of action, as Ravishankar, it is felt, may not interfere in the matter of demanding political status for yeddyurappa, as he has been spearheading a strong campaign against corruption.

Shameless and commandless Hi-command of BJP scared about Yeddi and offering him good position in the party. Now BJP has no rights to talk about corruption and criticize other parties.

Mr. Yeddy may have every right to claim an important position in his party BJP, since is belongs to the political class. However, people like Sri Sri Ravishankar should not support any political leaders of any party, as they are above politics. He has a wide following from all walks of like and he should not be associated with any political party. Then only his respect will increase. Let us hope for the best.

If at all BJP agrees to Yeddy's demands, it will be a suicidal for BJP in the state. Why cant he quit from active politics and concentrate more on visiting swamijis and temples.

This Eddy is creating more trouble for the forever smiling DVS.At this moment only DVS can run a clean government. Why make hindrances and create a unstable government situation which is affecting entire business activities of Karnataka. Chala bidada trivikrama, bennu bidada bethala.... call whatever, BSY is great. He will not rest until he gets what he wants, for he has tasted power but was not allowed to sink in it until his satisfation. The high command should oblige his demand and his mentor RSS should get it to him or else he will sink and drown all with him.

Yeddy should not be given CM post. DVS should continue as CM for rest of the term.

Hi-command will not accept his request as they are not like Sonia Gandhi.

Yeddy has done very good development works for the state. But he should have kept himself apart from corruption..

Well,Yedyurappaji through experience must know by now that
one does not 'stake' a claim for
    dignified positions in National
    political parties. The 'stakes'
    are high then. Rather, dignified
positions should follow the deserved-Hankering more often than not -fails....
