New Delhi, Aug 18: Panic gripped parts of the national capital on Monday morning after several schools received bomb threats through email, police said.
According to officials, Delhi Public School (DPS) Dwarka, Modern Convent School and ShreeRam World School in Sector 10, Dwarka were among those targeted. Following the alerts, all three schools were immediately evacuated as precautionary measures.

Police teams, along with the bomb disposal squad and cyber experts, carried out intensive searches of the campuses. Though earlier similar threats had turned out to be hoaxes, authorities said today’s case is being treated with utmost seriousness.
Richmondd Global School Principal Moupali Mitra, recalling a similar incident in July, said the school acted promptly. “We informed the Commissioner of Police within six minutes of receiving the email. The bomb squad and cyber department checked every corner of the campus and declared it safe. Anti-social elements are spreading such rumours, but we are taking all necessary precautions,” she told ANI.
Earlier on July 18, three prominent colleges of Delhi University — IP College for Women, Hindu College and Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) — had also received similar threats.
Further investigations are underway.
