Nottingham, Aug 18: Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of French striker Arnaud Kalimuendo on a five-year contract, adding firepower to their attacking ranks ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
The 23-year-old arrives at the City Ground after an outstanding 2024/25 season with Stade Rennais, where he scored 18 goals and provided four assists in 34 Ligue 1 appearances. Known for his pace, intelligent movement, and versatility across the front line, Kalimuendo now brings that form to England’s top flight.
Speaking after the announcement, Kalimuendo expressed pride and ambition about his new chapter in the Premier League.
“When I heard about Forest’s interest, I was honoured. Joining a club with such history, and one that performed strongly last season, is a proud moment for me,” he said.
“I had a good season with goals and assists, but I want more — I want to take my game to the next level here. I can’t wait to play at the City Ground; the fans create such a beautiful atmosphere.”
Kalimuendo is a product of the Paris Saint-Germain academy, where he joined at age 10. He made his first-team debut for PSG in 2020 but gained prominence during two loan spells at Lens, scoring 21 goals in 65 appearances. He later moved permanently to Rennes in 2022, where he notched 40 goals in over 100 appearances, including experience in the UEFA Europa League.
Chief Football Officer Ross Wilson described the signing as a significant step forward for the club.
“It’s been a busy few days — the result of a lot of hard work from our team,” Wilson said.
“Arnaud is a player we’ve followed closely across his spells at PSG, Lens, and Rennes. He brings real energy and ambition, and we’re excited to see him wear the Forest shirt.”
With his best season behind him and the Premier League ahead, Kalimuendo arrives in Nottingham looking to make an immediate impact and solidify Forest’s growing reputation as an exciting, ambitious side.
