Advocate Kishore D’Silva appointed chief defence counsel for Dakshina Kannada

Media Release

Mangaluru, Aug 19: The Karnataka Legal Services Authority has appointed Advocate Kishore D’Silva of Mangaluru as the chief defence counsel for Dakshina Kannada district, with immediate effect for a term of two years.

A well-known name in the legal fraternity, Advocate Kishore D’Silva has earned recognition for his expertise in criminal and civil cases, particularly for his sharp skills in cross-examination and forensic evidence analysis.

Before embracing the legal profession, D’Silva also contributed to academics, serving as a lecturer in commerce at St Aloysius Pre-University College and Mahesh College of Management.

The appointment comes under the Legal Aid Defence Counsel System (LADCS), an initiative of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), aimed at providing free legal representation to individuals unable to afford lawyers in criminal cases.

His appointment is expected to strengthen access to justice for the underprivileged in the district.
