Mangaluru, Aug 20: The department of Kannada, School of Language and Culture Studies, St Aloysius (Deemed to be University) organized an inter-state cultural conference and international symposium ‘Posa Vosar 2025’ for the undergraduate Kannada language students on August 19 in the LCRI auditorium with the theme ‘Fusing Machine Intelligence with the Kannada Cultural World: A Global Dialogue on Sociality and Creativity’.
Prakash Bolar, of ‘Bhava’ fame in the Kannada film ‘Su from So’, was the chief guest and inaugurated the programme. He said that “Students should nurture the desire to achieve something great, as this determination paves the way to success. Today’s youth are academically advanced, but along with education, they should also engage themselves in the arts such as music, dance, and drama for holistic development.”







The programme was presided over by the rector St Aloysius Educational Institutions, Fr Melwin Joseph Pinto, SJ. He urged the students to preserve the native language, reminding us not to forget it while learning other languages. The programme was also attended by the Dr Alwyn D’Sa, registrar of the College, Dr Ronald Nazareth, registrar of the University, Dr Charles Furtado, director of Admin Block, Dr Mahalinga Bhat, HOD of Kannada and Christopher D’Souza, conference coordinator.
The chancellor of St Aloysius Deemed University, Dr Praveen Martis, S J, said that students should develop an interest in art in life and grab opportunities.
The associate dean, department of journalism, Sophia University, Tokyo, Japan, Dr Arun Prakash S J was the guest of honour and delivered the keynote address and interacted with the students.
Dr Vinay M, assistant professor, department of computer science and department of database science, Christ University, Bengaluru, delivered a speech on the topic ‘Education and Technology: Fusion of Kannada with Machine Intelligence’.
Inter-state cultural competitions were organized for PUC students on this occasion. St Aloysius Pre-University College were the overall winners and Bharat PU College, Ullal won the runner-up.
Prakash Bolar of ‘Su from So’ and actress Prakriti Amin were felicitated on this occasion. A unique dance performance was organized by Remona Yvette Pereira of ‘Golden Girl of the Coast’ fame.
Dr Dinesh Nayak compered the programme and welcomed the gathering. Dr Mahalinga Bhat proposed the vote of thanks.
