United flavors of India: Independence Day & master chef with grandparents held at Podar Prep

Media Release

Mangaluru, Aug 20: Podar prep in PIS Mangalore celebrated Independence Day 2025 on August 15 with a heartfelt and flavourful event – “United flavors of India: master chef with grandparents.” The special occasion brought together children, grandparents, and parents on a common platform filled with patriotism, creativity and family bonding.

Inspired by the Indian tricolor, children prepared fireless, healthy recipes using natural ingredients. This activity not only encouraged healthy eating habits but also deepened cultural connections while strengthening family ties.

Grandparents shared stories of India’s freedom struggle and rich traditions, while children engaged in a variety of activities – solving puzzles of national symbols, singing patriotic songs, creating origami crafts, exploring traditional attire, playing Indian games, sorting tricolor balls and capturing memorable moments at the photo booth.

Aligned with the NCF-2022 Panchakosha philosophy-Annamaya Kosha, Pranamaya Kosha, Manomaya Kosha, Vijnanamaya Kosha and Anandamaya Kosha the event promoted holistic development through a balance of physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual growth.

Children from all levels - seeds (playgroup), emerging roots (nursery), budding plants (Jr KG), and growing plants (Sr KG) participated enthusiastically. Even when grandparents couldn’t be present, parents and teachers ensured every child experienced the joy of celebration.

With the theme “United flavors of India,” Podar prep’s Independence Day celebration will be remembered as a delightful fusion of tradition, unity and love.
