Dubai, Feb 5: UAE Tulu Koota, Dubai will present two very popular Tulu dramas - 'Oiklya Yoga Bodu' and 'Dada Malperapundu' on Friday February 10 at Al Nasr Leisure Land, Nashwan Hall, Dubai.

Mohan Rai Karnoor, who was instrumental in introducing the ever-popular 'Cha Parka Kalavider' led by Devdas Kapikad to the Gulf countries 10 years ago, has brought more than 10 highly successful dramas to the Tulu drama enthusiasts of UAE. Every single show was housefull, so much so that Tulu Koota members had to struggle to calm those who could not get entry tickets.

This time, Mohan Rai has taken the initiative to introduce another team to the Gulf audience - 'Kusalda Kalavider', Mangalore, led by dynamic leader, actor and director Ln Kishore D Shetty.

Shetty, an active member of Lions Club, managing director, LEADS Group, Mangalore, is a businessman by profession, and actor, director and convenor of Lakumi troupe of Mangalore. Above all, he is a great promoter of Tulu language, culture and drama.

Both dramas have drawn large crowds in India, already recording a number of hit shows. 'Oikla Yoga Bodu' has seen more than 200 shows in India and the demand is still on. The story revolves around the wish for constructing a house, a common desire of an average Indian. Very interesting is the stage setting of the house in construction, which develops as the drama continues and the story ends with the completion of the house. Stage setting is one of the most complicated aspect in this drama, which has been well appreciated by drama lovers back in India. Subtle social message, laced with rib-tickling comedy scenes and spiced with funny jokes and dialogues, is the hallmark of this drama.

The second drama 'Dada Malperapundu' has already seen 75 shows, drawn on the helplessness of humans against the fury of nature or Almighty. Whatever efforts one puts in, however hard one tries to achieve a target, ultimately the result is decided by nature or the omnipotent Almighty. The message is conveyed to the audience through powerful dialogues, brilliant acting, and the best of the scenes typical of Tulunadu culture.

Leading Tulu drama artistes such as Aravind Bolar, Sundar Rai Mandara, Vasant Amin, Ravi Surathkal, Suresh Manjeshwar, Dharmendra Amin, Shobha Shetty and Pinky Rani are ready to entertain the audience with their powerful acting and flawless performances.

Story and dialogues are by Naveen Shetty Alake and music by Rajesh Bhat Kalavaru, both of whom have proved themselves as the best in their respective fields.

Ln Kishore D Shetty as director of both dramas has succeeded in bringing out the best in each artiste.

Jeppu Chidanand Naik of M Pallonji, Qatar, a staunch lover of Tulu language, culture and heritage has extended his full support to stage these two dramas.

C R Shetty, chief convener of UAE Tulu Koota, Dubai has assured 6 hours of non-stop laughter and great entertainment for Tulu drama enthusiasts. As part of UAE Tulu Koota, Dubai's 20th year celebrations, there are many more programmes lined up this year .
