Ahmedabad, Aug 21: Tension gripped Ahmedabad after a class 10 student, identified as Nayan Santani, was stabbed to death by his junior outside the Seventh-Day Adventist Higher Secondary School in Khokhra on Tuesday afternoon. The chilling crime has triggered widespread protests, with parents and locals demanding stricter safety measures in schools.
Police have now recovered shocking Instagram chats between the accused, a class 8 student, and his friend, where he casually confessed to the murder.

In the conversation, when asked if he had stabbed someone, the accused admitted, “Haan to” (Yes, I did). Later, when his friend told him that Nayan had died, the boy replied coldly, “Chord na. Ab jo hogaya vo hogaya” (Let it be. What has happened has happened).
The friend even warned him, “Maar deta. Maar nahi dalna tha” (You could have hit him, not killed him), to which the accused showed no remorse.
Murder Outside School
The incident unfolded just after the last school bell. As Nayan stepped out of the building, he was cornered by the accused and a group of boys. A verbal spat escalated, and the class 8 boy pulled out a knife, stabbing Nayan in the stomach.
CCTV footage shows the victim staggering back into the school premises with his hand pressed against his wound. He was rushed to a private hospital in Maninagar, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Meanwhile, the attacker fled towards the rear side of the school but was spotted by the security guard, who alerted the administration and police.
Case Registered, Minor Detained
Police have registered an FIR and detained the accused under the Juvenile Justice Act. Investigators revealed that the boy claimed he attacked Nayan after being “threatened” by him.
The gruesome killing has sparked outrage across the city, with residents demanding accountability from school authorities and calling for strict action against juvenile offenders involved in violent crimes.
