Vistaar-2025 celebrated with grandeur at Srinivas University

Mangaluru, Aug 22: Vistaar-2025, the annual Cultural and Sports Day of the Institute of Allied Health Sciences (IAHS), Srinivas University, was held on Saturday at the Open Bhavan, Mukka Campus. The event turned into a vibrant showcase of cultural vibrancy, sportsmanship, and student talent.

The celebration was presided over by Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao, chancellor of Srinivas University and president of the A Shama Rao Foundation. Prof Er A Mitra S Rao, trustee-member, board of governors and secretary of the Foundation, graced the event as the guest of honour.

Other dignitaries present included Prof K Satyanarayana Reddy, vice-chancellor of Srinivas University, Dr Jayashree Bolar, deputy registrar, Prof Pavana Krishnamoorthy, dean of IAHS, and Sumanth, president of the Student Council.

The programme was organised under the leadership of Dr Chaithra K (Convener) and Ashlesh Alva (co-convener), with the support of Savin K Vidyan (sports coordinator), Student Council president Sumanth, and members of the SU-IAHS Student Council.

Highlights of the day included the traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, an inspiring address by the guest of honour, prize distribution to recognise excellence in academics, sports, and extracurricular activities, and a cultural extravaganza featuring dance, music, and artistic performances by students.

In her welcome address, Dr Chaithra K set the tone for the day, while Nisha delivered the vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of the organising committee, faculty, and students.

The celebration not only achieved its objective of honoring student achievements but also fostered a strong sense of unity and cultural pride. With active participation from students of all backgrounds, the event promoted holistic development and reinforced the university’s values of teamwork, creativity, and leadership.

Vistaar-2025 also aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), promoting good health and well-being through sports, quality education through experiential learning, gender equality through inclusive participation, and leadership skills contributing to future growth.

The event concluded on a high note, leaving the Srinivas University fraternity with cherished memories and renewed enthusiasm for the future.
