Mangaluru, Aug 24: Expert PU College, Kodialbail, continued its flagship Edupath Lecture Series with two inspiring sessions held at the college auditorium ‘Expodium,’ offering students valuable guidance on careers in medicine and engineering.

Dr Suhas Murali, consultant neurologist at Neuro Care, Mysuru, delivered a lecture on “Medicine as a Career Choice” on August 23. Drawing from his own academic journey that led him to secure the first rank at AIIMS, Delhi, Dr Suhas underscored the nobility of the medical profession. “Medicine is a noble career—it allows your potential to impact human life in a way that is truly unique. The job satisfaction you get is unparalleled,” he said.

He reminded students that perseverance through years of rigorous study and training is rewarded by the joy of saving lives. “You become friends with your patients and earn their blessings. That’s the joy of becoming a doctor,” he added, while stressing the importance of valuing teachers’ guidance and one’s own experiences.

In another lecture, Ankush N Nayak, director of Information Technology, Expert Group of Institutions, addressed I PUC students on the theme of engineering as a career. He explained that engineering is about solving real-world problems through science and technology, emphasizing that “skills are learned, not inborn talents.”

Nayak outlined five key elements of success in engineering problem solving, communication, teamwork, academic performance, and institutional brand. He further identified four essential pillars—technical foundation, problem-solving mindset, communication skills, and adaptability—which he said open doors to meaningful career opportunities.

Both sessions left a strong impression on students, encouraging them to pursue their ambitions with determination, gratitude, and service. Principal Prof Ramachandra Bhat honoured the guest speakers, while Ahana of the KC1 batch introduced them and compered the programme with confidence.
