Kundapur: Accused absconding for 23 years in dowry harassment case arrested in Gangolli

Kundapur, Aug 27: Gangolli police have arrested an accused who had been absconding for 23 years without appearing before the court in connection with a dowry harassment case.

The arrested accused has been identified as Naseer Khan (52), originally from Sagar in Shivamogga district and currently residing in Sampige, Hosanagara, Shivamogga. A case had been registered against him at Gangolli police station in 2002 under dowry harassment charges.

Despite the case, Khan had evaded court hearings and remained in hiding for more than two decades. Recently, Gangolli police staff members Krishna, Prasanna, Sandeep Kurani, and Mahalingaraya arrested him in Anandapura, Sagar taluk.

The accused has now been produced before the Kundapur court.
