Andhra Pradesh, Aug 28: Adapa Karthik, a doctor from Andhra Pradesh, is an inspiring example of determination and commitment. Despite being offered prestigious scholarships at Harvard and Cambridge, he chose to serve India through the civil services.

Karthik first cleared the UPSC Civil Services Examination in his initial attempts and was allotted the Indian Police Service. However, his dream was to become an IAS officer. Undeterred, he attempted the exam a third time and in 2007 secured the All India Rank 1.

For his preparation, Karthik selected zoology and psychology as his optional subjects. Speaking about his strategy, he emphasized relying on basic textbooks, maintaining consistency, and focusing on the quality of study over the number of hours. He usually dedicated six to eight hours a day to his preparation.

Karthik’s journey stands as a testament to perseverance, discipline, and the power of clear vision in achieving one’s goals.
