Rain holiday on Aug 30: Schools, anganwadis closed in Dakshina Kannada

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Aug 29: A rain holiday has been declared for all Anganwadi centres and schools—spanning government, aided, and private primary and high-level institutions—across Dakshina Kannada district on Saturday, August 30, following a forecast of heavy downpour by both the Indian Meteorological Department and Karnataka’s Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre.

The district administration has advised parents to keep children away from low-lying zones, wells, lakes, river banks, and seashores as precautionary measures.

Fisherfolk have also been warned against venturing out to sea under the looming threat of turbulent conditions.

Officials at the taluk level have been instructed to remain stationed at their headquarters. Nodal officers assigned by the district administration are to remain vigilant and respond swiftly to any public grievances.

Tahsildars have been directed to stay in continuous communication with authorities to ensure coordinated action should any situation arise.
