'Mataji, Bless Me to Become CM Once Again'
Yadgir, Feb 6 (DHNS): Former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa, restless after being asked to step down, now seems to be taking solace in visiting godmen and godwomen.
On Sunday, he had the ‘darshan’ of Mata Manikeshwari Devi at Yanagundi near here and expressed his ambition to reclaim the post of chief minister. The BJP leader got a chance to meet the spiritual leader after waiting for four hours.
“Mataji, bless me to become the chief minister once again,” he said twice to the Mata. In reply, the Mata said: “Politics has seen degeneration. God gives everything only when one shuns the vices. Seek the God’s blessings. You will become chief minister and rise to greater heights. Once you get the position of power, make sure to take steps to prevent cruelty towards animals.”
Yeddyurappa told the spiritual leader that it was he who took steps towards banning cow slaughter. She replied saying: “Police must be instructed to take strict action towards preventing cruelty to animals.”
The former chief minister was cheerful after his conversation with the Mata. He told reporters that the rare meeting with her had renewed his vigour and had motivated him to do more good to the State. He said it was left to God to give him the post of chief minister or any other position.
The next in line for the godwoman’s darshan was DG&IGP Shankar Bidari. She told him that the police had harassed a servant in her ashram. “Let the law prevail. But, direct the police not to harass anyone unnecessarily.” Bidari only replied: “Yes, amma.”
