Christ King Institutions hosts Udupi District-Level Primary & High School Football Tournament

Karkala, Sep 1: The Udupi district-level primary and high school boys’ and girls’ football tournament was held at the Gandhi Maidan under the auspices of Christ King Educational Institutions, in association with Udupi zilla panchayat, the Department of Public Instruction, the Office of the Deputy Director of Public Instruction, Udupi, and the Office of the Block Education Officer, Karkala.

Avinash Shetty, founder-president of Ammana Neravu Charitable Trust, inaugurated the tournament by lighting the lamp. Speaking on the occasion, he said, “Children must participate in sports with a sporting spirit and bring laurels to our district.”

Municipal Council member Shubhadh Rao, another guest, extended his best wishes to the children.

Presiding over the function, Christ King Primary School headmaster Rudolf Kishore Lobo said, “Participation in sports itself is like achieving a step toward victory. All participants should compete in a way that inspires each other.”

Udupi District physical education officer Chandrashekhar Shetty conducted the program.

Others present on the dais included Christ King Education Trust secretary Aveline Lewis, Cluster Resource Person Jyothi, Karkala Taluk High School Physical Education Teachers’ Association president Santosh Shetty, Christ King PU College principal Lakshminarayan Kamath, High School headmistress Josna Snehalatha, PTA presidents Sharita Noronha of High School Section and Uday Ravi of primary section.

Institution’s physical education teacher Prakash Naik welcomed the gathering, Teacher Jeslyn D’Souza delivered the vote of thanks, and Kannada lecturer Umesh Bellippady compered the program.
