Sullia, Sept 3: A woman was killed and two others were seriously injured in a horrific road accident between a car and a tanker near Kadepala, close to Kallugundi on the Mani–Mysuru National Highway, on the morning of Wednesday, September 3.
The deceased has been identified as Shobha, a resident of Nellihudikeri in Siddapur, Kodagu district.
According to police sources, the tanker was travelling from Madikeri towards Sullia, while the car was heading in the opposite direction towards Madikeri. The vehicles collided head-on in a devastating impact that left the front of the car completely mangled.

Shobha, who was in the car, died on the spot. Two other occupants of the vehicle sustained serious injuries in the crash. The car is reportedly registered to residents of Nellihudikeri, Siddapur.
The injured were immediately rushed to a private hospital in Sullia, where they are currently undergoing treatment. Their condition is said to be critical.
Police visited the accident site and have begun an investigation to determine the cause of the collision.
