Panaji, Sep 4: Goa’s Power Minister Ramkrishna ‘Sudin’ Dhavalikar on Wednesday slammed the Congress, holding it responsible for preparing the detailed project report (DPR) of the linear projects, including the railway track-doubling through the state. He termed it ironic that the same party was now opposing the project.
PWD Minister Digambar Kamat, meanwhile, made it clear that he would not speak on contentious matters. “I have taken over charge of the PWD. Don’t try to play politics. I will not issue any statement on controversial issues. This is clear,” Kamat told reporters.

Dhavalikar said the DPR was prepared during Congress’s tenure at the Centre around 2008-09, when the party was in power, and questioned why objections were not raised at that time. He added that similar protests were seen even during the Konkan Railway project.
