Mangaluru: Expert PU College honours architects of tomorrow with heartfelt tributes

Media Release

Mangaluru, Sep 6: Teachers’ Day 2025 at Expert PU College, Kodialbail, was a vibrant celebration of the educators who quietly yet powerfully shape the future.

The campus radiated with joy and gratitude as students and staff came together to honour the mentors who nurture minds, spark curiosity, and guide with unwavering dedication.

Dr M B Puranik, president of Tulunadu Education Trust and Sharada Group of Institutions, graced the occasion and was honoured as Teacher Exemplary—a tribute to his lifelong commitment to nurturing young minds. His succinct yet powerful message, “A successful teacher is one that loves their profession and is committed towards it. A teacher never just teaches the subject—they teach values and shape the character of the student,” resonated deeply, capturing the enduring bond between teacher and student.

The event commenced with a solemn lamp-lighting ceremony and a floral tribute to Dr S Radhakrishnan, whose birth anniversary marks this National Day of Recognition. The gesture served as a reminder of the values educators uphold.

A soulful rendition of Guru Vandana followed, with students harmonising the Sanskrit shloka “Gurur Brahma, Gurur Vishnu, Gurur Devo Maheshwara,” invoking timeless reverence for the guru as a divine guide. This cultural tradition brought a sense of unity and spiritual grace to the gathering.

Chairman Prof Narendra L Nayak reflected on the essence of teaching, saying, “All creatures live life, but only humans learn to lead it — and it is teachers who show us the way. A poor teacher merely teaches, but a great teacher inspires.”

Vice chairperson Dr Ushaprabha N Nayak reflected on the calling of teaching, saying, “Teaching is not just a profession; it is a lifestyle.” She fondly recalled her own mentors who played a pivotal role in shaping her early years.

Adding a lively twist to the celebrations, teachers took to the stage with spirited performances, singing Kannada classics like 'Yenagali Munde Saagali' and 'Lokada Kaalaji'. The line 'Yenagali munde saagali'—let life move forward with courage and hope—captured the uplifting spirit of the day. Their graceful dance and musical enthusiasm were met with thunderous applause, reflecting the strong bond between faculty and students.

The formal programme was compered by Dhanya of the B2 batch and Damani of the F2 batch. Student council president Brahmi Mayya delivered the welcome address, while secretary Niharika R Nayak offered the vote of thanks.

The event was attended by principal Ramachandra Bhat, College IT director Ankush N. Nayak, architect Deepika A Nayak, trustee member Ustaad Rafiq Khan, academic committee member B Vinay Kumar, coaching head Karunakar Balkur, assistant coaching head Pramod Kini, and other teaching and coaching staff.

Teachers’ Day 2025 wrapped up on a high note, celebrating the heart and soul of education—its teachers. Every moment echoed the impact of educators who go beyond the classroom to shape minds, nurture dreams, and walk beside students as trusted guides.
